Barnes Chapel Church
A small country church on Rattle Creek, Washington county, Va., was established during the eighteen hundreds when Henry Roberts provided the land for a church to be built near where he lived. Services are still being held here where Roger Hearl, a descendent of Henry Roberts is Pastor.

Rattle Creek Falls
This is a picture of the falls on Rattle Creek where it spills down through the gorge and the old Joseph H. Heral farm on its way to the North Fork Holston River.

Fall Hill Church
The Herals and other families living on lower Rattle Creek built this church.
After standing vacant for many years, it has now been repaired and services are being held in it.  Aunt Harriett Heral Watson is said to be buried in the cemetery nearby. Harriett Heral was daughter of Hugh Heral and Lydia Charlotte McIntire and was the wife of William Y.C. Watson. Mary Broyles of Johnson City, TN was daughter of William and Harriett Watson.
Many ghost stories are told about goings-on around this old church.
