Milton Houston Heral (Hearl) son of Joseph Hamalton Heral and Mary Jane Roberts. Being the only living child of Joe and Mary Heral, Milton became owner of the Heral farm on Rattle Creek and North Fork Holston River.. He raised a large family there and some of the boys lived on the farm after they were married. Milton used oxen and horses for farming and logging. Here he is shown on the back of an ox..

Milton H. Heral and Mary Ellen Sledd Heral in their buggy. Milton loved to ride horses and the buggy. When     his aunt Margaret Hagy died she gave him his choice of the fine riding horses she and her husband raised in Rich Valley. Every Saturday and many other days he drove the horse and buggy to town piled full of the boys to spend the day.
