Below are some pictures taken at Greendale School in Washington County, Virginia in 1937. The first school at Greendale was established in an old granary building by John Roberts, son of Henry Roberts and Elizabeth "Betsy" Warren Roberts. Later, Elizabeth Hagy, sister of John, provided land on which a public school was built. It evolved into Greendale High School where these pictures were taken. This building is presently used as a nursing home where many former students are spending their last days.  I hope someone will be able to identify the people in these pictures, if so, write me at glh@naxs.com   G. Lee Hearl

These Pages will be kept
on this website a few weeks in hopes someone can identify the people in the photos. GLH

If you have old pictures of Greendale School and wish them displayed on later pages, please send them to me, preferably by E-mail in JEPG format. Thanks GLH

Note: I am looking for pictures of the old mill at Greendale, Va. It was known as Cartys Mill when I was a boy and went to school in the old store building across the road. GLH
